Ultimate Elephone P9000 review ( High performance budget smartphone)
The main reason I visit stores such as TomTop INT and GearBest INT is because not only do they ship to every, if not most countries in the world but also they have a wide range of cool gadgets and consumer electronics just waiting to be discovered. Amongst the thousands of electronics I spotted this phone that looked very flashy and dug into it. Keeping in mind of those that might want a high performance low budget smartphone this review is dedicated to you guys.

For a first impression this phone is quite big because of the 5.5 inch display and it actually looks pretty good all thanks to the charcoal black build quality which makes it stand out pretty well. We have a fingerprint sensor on the back which makes it a bit easier to unlock the phone which for me is kinda weird but seems to fit the device well in terms of looks. The display is FHD which makes everything look sharp and well detailed and just adds more to this device especially considering the price which makes me think that this device should have cost 2 times more than its original price. In hand the phone feels a bit bulky because of the screen size but isn’t really an issue using it with two hands but one hand usage might be a bit of a challenge for our friends and family that have small hands. But otherwise I love how this device looks straight out of the box and I will be definitely putting it through different tests.
The screen of this device is super big for those who love displays and use them for various things such as seeing what you’re filming or taking a picture of, Playing games or perhaps watching a high quality video. With a big 5.5 inch display 1920 x 1080 pixel screen it’s definitely something not to ignore at all. While testing I was able to get good results and paid close attention to the detail and I was quite impressed and for a phone this cheap it packs a wonderful FHD scene which nobody can miss. If you love a big screen that is not as big as a tablet make sure to look into this beautiful 5.5 inch smartphone. If you want to fully appreciate this screen make sure to get yourself some Virtual reality Goggles (VR) and see for yourself how big a beauty it is. The screen is also multi touch up to 5 fingers. So overall I really like display this phone brings and shows us that low budget phones too can be high performance.
The phone runs off android marshmallow 6.0 which in future should be upgradable. This UI looks really good and a bit different if you were to use it on another phone such as Samsung Galaxy, BLUBOO, Xiaomi, Cubot, one plus and so on… It doesn’t come with that much bloatware applications so you shouldn’t worry about space at all. This phone also supports 2G/3G/4G networks with a speed of HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps in 3G.
The CPU has an upgrade too! With an incredible 2.0 GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex A53 CPU Chpset –MediaTek Helio P MT6755 Helio P10 chip with 4 GB Ram. Which basically means it is a super-fast chip that also conserves power while still delivering performance. For a phone this price it still has quite an advanced chipset which means you can play games and run heavy tasks and everything will still look and feel smooth. What a lot of low budget phones fail to do nowadays is to provide enough power to carry out complex tasks such as playing Mortal Kombat X or Modern combat 5. I have had an incident whereby I tried to run Injustice gods among us 2 on the DG310 (low budget smartphone) and to my surprise the game crashed before I could even play it. So I’m just happy to see phones at this low price being able to handle heavy performance demanding tasks.
This phone definitely has the storage that packs an amazing ROM of 32GB to keep you going until you need to expand it externally (which you can) via MicroSD(TF) up to 256GB. As much as this is a low priced phone it still delivers enough space to keep everything you’ll ever need. If you’re a person who likes to keep everything for no absolute reason at all then this phone will end up being your best friend. Lots of people (including you) love having huge amounts of space storage and figure out what crazy content they should load it up with. For those who use apps such as Whatsapp can agree with me that space is extremely important because of all the media people upload every single day. Anyways this phone has a good storage plan that will one day make you thank the fact you got a high storage smartphone.
Getting to the snappier side of things this Budget smartphone brand- Elephone has a 8 MP (megapixel) front camera and a 13 MP rear camera with LED Flash which looks pretty impressive for a phone this range. Taking pictures looks pretty good and the better thing is that you can take Full High definition (FHD) videos that look all around amazing. The image dimensions are extremely high up to 4416 x 2944 pixels which means that when you take a nice steady rear camera image and zoom in, the Picture will look sharp crisp and extremely detailed which just sounds great reading about it. I had a bit of fun with the camera as I tested it on some clothing and zoomed in to get this amazing image which makes this phone extremely good to use. The camera has a fast auto focus which helps when taking a photo and makes it look as sharp as it can possibly. But I will keep testing the camera further just so see how far it can be pushed.
At the back of the device we have a non-removable 3000Mah battery which is very powerful considering the chipsets being used. Because of the MediaTek Helio P10 chip the battery doesn’t consume that much per hour of usage. In fact I was able to get a solid 1 day usage with this device. With a mixture of some games, music and videos here and there this phone handled a lot and didn’t give off that much heat but I still need to test one or two things with the power consumption. Phones this price range usually have 4-7 hours before they die but this isn’t the case with this smartphone. You can even download power conserving apps to help you extend its life! Because this phone is a high battery power smartphone it takes a bit longer to charge it (took me around 2 hours to reach 90%) but it also depends if it’s on or off. But Pokemon Go definitely drains a lot of power as it uses GPS, Data etc. So make sure to have at least a powerbank and a long cable when you want to do anything related to a pokemon game.
The sound system is definitely loud on this particular phone and has big potential (which still needs to be testing). When I did a range test I was still able to hear the phone from 50m which is quite impressive. The quality of the speakers felt really good and although there’s not much to be said about this, the speakers still impressed me.
