Krypton P2P decentralized ad marketplace: Android blockchain marketplace Review
Looking for an extra secure, no fee alternative to popular marketplaces such as craigslist
on your android phone, yes? Not only does this blockchain marketplace alternative app have everything you need to start trading your goods via your android
powered smartphone for cryptocurrency, the best part is that there is no
government interference and everything is done over Tor’s network making your
location impossible to trace. This is all possible thanks to Krypton!
If you’ve ever used a marketplace like craigslist
before, this app is close to that with a few twists and turns here and there. Craigslist
is vastly known for allowing it’s users to advertise goods/services
and arranging meeting up locations and at the end of the day, the buyer and
seller get what they want.
Welcome to
the world of Cryptocurrency
Nowadays active online users have started accepting digital
currencies such as Bitcoin instead of fiat currency because of current online problems like heavy tax, conversion fees and the KGB watching every transaction, not to mention KYC regulations this makes it an unnecessarily long and wasteful process
to buy those “Fashion jeans” you saw online. This is when Krypton P2P decentralized marketplace comes along.
Krpton
token
Before you actually start trading goods, you have to buy a
token which is a normal process and you can order some using Bitcoin and other
Cryptocurrency and there will only be 25,000 tokens in this system. The main
purpose for the tokens is to pay for ad spaces which you can have info on your
product.
Krypton
token Features:

You can update your listings anytime using your private key.
Because no site is hosting the listings they cannot be taken down.

Add search terms to your listings with others to create decentralized stores.

Krypton Marketplace
for android
This android application allows you to sell your goods and or
services over an extra secure tor encrypted network for Cryptocurrency such as
Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dash coin all on your phone or tablet.
When we first launch up the new Krypton we see a QR code at
the top right along with the number of KRC tokens we have and a bit of
Blockchain info at the left and just below the blue area we have the listings. The app
actually works over Tor network and is powered by the users themselves using
mobile mining and doesn’t take up a lot of processing power. Once you’ve joined
the server you can view offers worldwide which makes this app a real catch.
At first glance the User interface looks really stylish in
its own way and on On the Homepage We see The KRC tokens, small QR code and the
Tor peers (connection to server), Unconfirmed, Last Block time which is nicely
wrapped in a blue back ground and looks eye catching in its own right and
latest updated” listings” (goods and services) . The information on the Homepage doesn’t look
too overwhelming compared to the old one. (which can be found here!) .
Since not many people know what “Tor” is and how it works,
I’d prefer to see something else when the service is starting right after I
launch Krypton. Let’s say instead of “Tor is starting” I’d be more comfortable
seeing “Connecting to Krypton servers” or something along those lines and the
same goes along with the “Tor Peers”.
The home screen is quite straight forward and I didn’t find
any problem understanding anything krypton had to throw at me to the point I
wrote a Krypton tutorial here just for your sake and I wish there was a “Category” type
of page as it would be interesting to see specific type of items and compare
them upfront instead. But would be better if it had a custom search option with
different criteria such as: Location, type of item, price range, Age etc.
Looking at the search area, you can easily search for
anything you’re interested to buy with crypto or your preferred amount in USD
and if you’re lucky enough, it might just appear in a list form with its mini
description. The app is still very new and needs a lot of users to contribute
their items in order to have vast variety to choose from. I have no complaint
about the search items and you can even search based on images and it will
display them in a good manner which makes this part of the experience really
good. The fact you can simply search for
anything you want straight from the home screen, makes Krypton easier to use
and I don’t have any complaints there.
The advertisements look extremely good as it shows the
picture first (If you included on) and all the necessary details one could ever
need in order to buy the product and contact the owner. I didn’t find an issue
when it came to reading the information on the ad. It was displayed in a good
manner and again I found all the information I needed in order to make the
purchase thanks to the carefully crafted template readily available for
everyone by default. I like how I don’t
have to go back and click on the other ad as when I’m viewing a current ad, I
can just use the “PREV”, “NEXT” or “LOAD” a custom ad I might have received the
token number on a different media such as Whatsapp.
Once you’ve contacted the individual you want to buy an item
from, you simply arrange meeting locations and send crypto to each other,
sealed and done (You can convert your crypto to local currency later using
coinbase etc .
I really think this app is an extremely good idea because not
only do I see myself using this at least several times a week to buy something not
just locally but globally, I can also keep checking this app to find items I
never knew existed and would love to try out. You can even tell the seller to
deliver the item right at your doorstep and pay them directly on your phone using
your preferred payment. I also hope of
looking forward of seeing them doing cool stuff like getting personal in area
delivery which would be a nice touch and super convenient.
The only bad side to this alternative craigslist blockchain is
that I really wished there was a “category” page of some sort to make
navigating a bit easier and It would be cool to see a fancy loading page as the
servers are being connected to. Also it is still quite new and needs more users which you can be if you simply download it down below.
Do I need
this app?
If you don’t like website owners telling you what to do when buying and selling your items online especially on Amazon, EBay
etc., you can certainly need this app. Not only does it have 0% transaction fee
but it is super-fast and seems to get the job done. I’d recommend you to download
the Blockchain and run a full node on your phone (refer to this Krypton tutorial) so that the product images and or services
listings load quicker and your KRC token transactions transfer as fast as
possible.
